South Yorkshire Area Group of the 009 Society.
Hello, we are the South Yorkshire Area Group of the 009 Society and welcome to our web site. The majority of our members work in 00 or H0 scales (4 and 3.5 mm to the foot respectively). By using a track gauge of 9mm they are able to model narrow gauge railways with prototype gauges between 1'10" and 2'6" (that is 570mm and 760mm). The use of one common track gauge has the advantage that members can operate their rolling stock on other layouts. We meet bi monthly at Edlington near Doncaster. Our next meeting will be on either the 8th or the 15th of August 2009. Date to be confirmed, watch this space. click here for details. Although we call ourselves the South Yorkshire Area Group and we meet in Doncaster, much of the group come from further afield, including Derbyshire, East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.
