South Yorkshire Area Group of the 009 Society.

Hello, we are the South Yorkshire Area Group of the 009 Society and welcome to our web site.

The majority of our members work in 00 or H0 scales (4 and 3.5 mm to the foot respectively). By using a track gauge of 9mm they are able to model narrow gauge railways with prototype gauges between 1'10" and 2'6" (that is 570mm and 760mm). The use of one common track gauge has the advantage that members can operate their rolling stock on other layouts.

We meet bi monthly at Edlington near Doncaster or Barlow near Selby. Our next meeting will be on the 16th of October 2010 at Edlington. Click here for more details.

Although we call ourselves the South Yorkshire Area Group, much of the group come from further afield, including Derbyshire, East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.
